Preserved in liquid time…encapsulated for all to see in due season. When will you be found great mystery of the deep?

When will you arise great city of the fallen?

When will all see and look upon the stories of faith that shone and fled from you?

The evidence of your greatness is only that Abraham obeyed and strayed from you and your abominations.

Great city of Ur, no more…for the glass ceiling of hope has left you long ago.

Abraham left on a journey unknown…following One whose promise was milk & honey and an abundance…more than the stars in the sky.

Nevertheless you have survived city of Ur. You are a mystery to those who lack knowledge and fail to undertsand faithfulness and therefore obedience.

In the King James Version (KJV), Ur of the Chaldees is the birthplace of Abraham and the starting point of his migration. It is identified as a major city in southern Mesopotamia (or Sumer), known for moon worship, which Abraham left to go to Canaan. [Genesis 11, Nehemiah 9]
